User Reviews
I love this application. And is one of most useful app of mine. But because of not supporting multiwindow function i always must swich applications when i read something in different language. Please add this funtion as soon as possible
Upto android version 8 clipboard scanner was great. When you copied any word from any app dictionary pop uped but in android 10 , dictionary doesn't pop up even after clipboard scanner is on. Please developer work on this great app.
There is literally nothing like it in the world. Best dictionary app for Android. Can manage too dictionaries at a time! It's smooth and easily integrates with ebook reader apps!
Once a Great Dictionary, Now Left Behind - - for a decade, this was my go-to dictionary, but its outdated and cumbersome interface, and the rise of other equally capable dictionaries, leave me no choice but to uninstall. 3 stars would've meant neutral, and 4 stars would've been lying about its limited capabilities. So, w/ a reluctant hand, 2 stars. Hopefully this app dev wakes up and keeps up w/ the times. Looks wise, it's like the dictionary version of Craigslist.
You can reply ? Please , when all words is clickable, add an option to go directely without popup, and please add bgl support, and zoom imgs together font size,
Fora Dictionary is an amazing app. This dictionary is in file type and gives you options to add or remove subject packages on choice. It is the best and smartest of dictionaries you will come across from Play Store.
Only got this app bc it works with fbreàder but apparently you only get 5 uses then it is a brick. I feel there are better programs out there. And the program didn't make the limited number of uses known when I do the program.
It's sucks now!Used to be fully functional yet free but now you need licence to simply use it properly.
It's bloatware now... Why don't you let your users decide, which dictionaries they want to install, instead of packing several hundred MB of things we don't need?
I paid for this app, it used to be the best dictionary platform but now it is the worst. I cannot add any dictionaries, it is a mess.
Best dictionary on offer for personalization and custom dictionary packages. Needs little improvement regarding system integration and visual layout. Should offer IPA support in phonetics.
In new update, following bugs could be seen: 1. View becomes white blank after scrolling down 2. res_cache automatically deleting everything in it, poor support for images.
This might be a good dictionary app, but it's impossible to figure out how to use it. I should import the dictionaries I want, but it doesn't even suggest where to find dictionaries that can be imported. I googled it myself and found no relevant results. It's as if they don't want me to use the app. I hope I get to hear from you. I would like to import a Chinese dictionary to Fora.
Great job bro... ➡️Please add option to immersive mode in settings if possible...⬅️ Thank you.
unbeatable, The only dictionary I've used since I started using android device. But there's one problem I would be happy if you can solve it for me... If we could get wireless update of our books database... Specially the WorldFact.
Good approach but trailling behind GoldenDict in some areas, which used to champion this approach. (Unfortunately, GoldenDict's dev is not very active these days.) There is room for improvement in Fora: * Please add support for Babylon .BGL files, ABBYY Lingvo .LSD, .DSL, .LSA and .DAT files, Dictd files Hunspell morphologies (like GoldenDict), maybe MDict too * The formatting of some StarDict libaries isn't great, for example Oxford Advanced Dictionary 8th. edition looks scattered * Add a hotkey to skip to the desired dictionary (like GoldenDict) * Put the name of the respective dictionary at the top of each section, this gives longer dictionary lists better surveyability (like GoldenDict) * The history could be shown below the search bar as long as the bar is empty * Allow to change the dictionary order in profiles (see GoldenDict) This is food for thought, I like the app and therfore give it 4 stars for now.
Everything all right,,😀 bt when i use copy scanner it cant open pop up window😂please also add function of pop up while copying the text😫 i recently go through so many app which not allow copying facility😌so please also add floting window facility so any one can comfortably see word meaning without closing browser or app😥
There's a bug with visualizing the results when query is still in progress. If you scroll the window, FD breaks (it shows a blank screen).
On Android 11 you need to copy dictionary using PC but once you do all is well. Thanks to the developer for helping out with this. Still my favourite dictionary app
No you can't find the definition of "I" or "am" or "ignorant" as soon as you install it cause you're supposed to give it a compatible database for it to have any functionality. ffs don't rate stuff when you're not adequately informed.
I need to do the following for v19.5.0 update on Android 10 for existing offline dicts: 1. Move dictionaries to "/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.ngc.fora/files/.fora". 2. Open "Manage Dictionaries", select profile, top right menu, "Add to Profile" to add dictionaries to each profile. The big "Import..." button is not useful for migrating existing dictionaries. Developer should clearly document this procedure in the release note.
